So I thought maybe I would go out on a little bit of a tangent and speak about something that has been irking me for the past year. Before I begin my rant, I thought I would present some links to bolster my argument for a pattern here, here, and here… hell just look here. Pedestrians and bicyclers are dropping like flies and I think I know what may be playing a role in at least some of these tragedies. Whether in front of the grocery store, walking a dog in the neighborhood, training for a marathon, or crossing a major eight lane intersection, I feel that many have lost the last bit of a survival instincts that exists in the domesticated human.

It baffles me when I see a person put their life in the hands of a stranger and trust that the operator of the vehicle is completely coherent and in control of their vehicle. Sitting in my car I have witnessed more times than not, people cross major intersections lazily without looking up at traffic to make sure no cars are coming. Last November I was a passenger in a car accident where the vehicle I was in was T-boned by a driver that made the statement of being unaware what color the traffic light was when he drove through the intersection and hit the car on my side totaling the vehicle I was occupying.

While the driver that hit our car was in the wrong, I live in Florida which is a no fault state. Meaning unless there is obvious bodily harm necessitating an ambulance, no citation is issued. The other driver acknowledged his fault but regardless of whose fault it was; If I had been a pedestrian following the rules of the road, I would have been KILLED. When a person is dead or permanently disabled, it doesn’t really matter who had the right of way, no amount of money will get your life back or give you the ability to hug your child again.

So in closing, I urge you to asess your comfort on the streets and reconnect with your instincts. Don’t let an awful situation or close call motivate you.

So long since the last post!

I just got the canon 7D and the last time I was this happy with a purchase was when I bought my first iPod in 2005. I can’t leave this thing anywhere, I check on it like it’s a kid, and I bought a backpack that has a special compartment for it. I heard that the earthquake in Japan prevented camera companies from releasing new models. I guess the 7D has been out for a while but it is compatible with my copy of Premier Pro. So with that in mind, I calm myself from panic attacks from thinking that I bought this thing at the worst time possible. With this camera and some new editing techniques I hope to deliver some solid content.

So far everything is working great. I promise to increase post frequency and appeal. Check out my youtube channel when you get bored

I’m very excited to work on some new projects with my gopro. First, a commencement video of my graduation, I’m walking on Saturday. I have the camera attached to my chest and I tested out the frame coverage and it should work out great. I just hope the School president doesn’t think that I have a bomb strapped to my chest. Next, I plan to attach the camera to a long pole and get some action shots of myself and friends doing what we do. Working a lot these past 10 days. I’ve been going on many design websites and following tweets and the stuff people are making on their computers is amazing. LOT’S to learn where do I start?

I feel there is a disconnect between the outside world and commercial printers. Never in my life have I had completely different experiences with vendors in the same field. I have worked with 4 different organizations and not once had a process repeat itself. I suspect that this is due to the different equipment each company uses requires different file formats and set-ups. They’re all vague on their requirements initially but once you send it in, they get real specific. An on-line group in Cali. gave me three different quotes and wouldn’t honor any of them. Sorry to post a negative rant but I guess what I’m saying is, help me help you.
